Jason Jones ICF-MN fills my bucket!! I look forward to the in person meetings to connect with my tribe of coaches and enjoy the way of being only coaches embody. It energizes me. https://s3.amazonaws.com/ClubExpressClubFiles/907122/graphics/Jason_Jones_1992631113.jpg
Bev Lutz ICF membership provides incredible professional networking opportunities, professional and personal growth, and opportunities to explore my strengths as I volunteer in service of my profession.  My chapter really helps me stay current with coaching, thought leadership, and learn-n-earn (CEU’s) from professional development events.  But it’s the supportive coach-friends and collaborators who have made membership for me priceless. //s3.amazonaws.com/ClubExpressClubFiles/907122/graphics/BevLutz1_669008720.jpg

Irene Kelly

Being a member of ICF offers me the opportunity for certification by the industry professional standard bearer; being a member of ICF Minnesota connects me to my professional peers for networking and collaboration.  Membership in both establishes me as “credible” and provides me opportunities to learn and grow.

President's Letter

Sara Krisher, ICF Minnesota President

I was recently inspired by this poem sent to me by a fellow coach. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Everything Is Waiting for You by David Whyte

Your great mistake is to act the drama
as if you were alone. As if life
were a progressive and cunning crime
with no witness to the tiny hidden
transgressions. To feel abandoned is to deny
the intimacy of your surroundings. Surely,
even you, at times, have felt the grand array;
the swelling presence, and the chorus, crowding
out your solo voice. You must note
the way the soap dish enables you,
or the window latch grants you freedom.
Alertness is the hidden discipline of familiarity.
The stairs are your mentor of things
to come, the doors have always been there
to frighten you and invite you,
and the tiny speaker in the phone
is your dream-ladder to divinity.

Put down the weight of your aloneness and ease into
the conversation. The kettle is singing
even as it pours you a drink, the cooking pots
have left their arrogant aloofness and
seen the good in you at last. All the birds
and creatures of the world are unutterably
themselves. Everything is waiting for you.

It has been an absolute privilege to lead ICF Minnesota in 2017. Thank you for your kindness, your energy, and your expertise throughout the last year. I have met some amazing coaches, taken extraordinary trips, learned beyond my wildest dreams, and grown as a leader. I am truly grateful.

Please be sure to welcome Shari Fruechte as your 2018 President. She is full of positivity, supported by a full board, and a true servant leader.

I look forward to seeing you at our upcoming events.

With Confidence,

Sara Krisher
ICF Minnesota President

From Passion to Practice – Turning a Life Long Love into a Long-Lived Business with Dave Wondra, PCC

How do you make your business uniquely you? And once you establish a successful practice, how do you keep it alive and vital over the long term? You will discover the personal journey of how the presenter assimilated his lifelong love for music into his coaching practice, which brought significant positive impact to his business and his happiness. While music is a major source of passion and creativity, he lived divided for many years, keeping music separate from his work life. Woven into the story will be a description of the specific process he used to create his own branding point of view – Practice for Performance – upon which he based his business.

Dave is President of Wondra Group, an executive coaching firm that helps senior leaders find the one thing that improves their ability to get results for themselves and their organizations. His clients develop their skills through Practice for Performance, an approach to learning that incorporates practice into regular work activities. As a result, busy leaders get more value from their time, and learning that lasts. Dave brings over 30 years of experience to his clients, who range from family-owned to Fortune 50 businesses. He is a graduate of the Hudson Institute of Coaching, holds a PCC designation from the ICF, and has a Master of Arts in Industrial Relations degree from the University of Minnesota. Dave currently is a Trustee for the ICF Foundation. Previously he served as Chair of the ICF Global Board of Directors. In addition, Dave is a freelance trumpet player and performs in the Minneapolis area.

Booming Business Blueprint: Coaching and Life: Reflecting Back and Moving Forward

by Lynn Nodland, Ph.D., MCC and Robin Nordmeyer, CLC

Greetings, Lynn and Robin here with Booming Business Blueprint and Masterful Coaches Community Facebook Group. We help you to reach your goals for a booming business, balanced life, and masterful coaching practice. As coaches, we strive to develop skills and knowledge to do a great job for our clients and make an impact in the world. Last month we focused on five ways to stay connected with prospective clients. Because it is the end of the year, this month we will focus on reflecting back and creating intentions for moving forward in the new year.

COACHING AND LIFE: REFLECTING BACK AND MOVING FORWARD

Reflecting Back:

Over the past year, you undoubtedly made significant decisions and took considerable actions regarding your business and life. All of us have likely achieved many good results over this past year, and yet there may be some results we wish would have turned out better. Here are some questions to help you reflect back over the challenges and results that have occurred with your business and life in the past year.

• What results will you celebrate?
• For you, what is significant about the outcome of those results?
• How did you accomplish those successes?
• What results were less desirable over the past year?
• What contributed to the less than desirable results?
• What got in the way of accomplishing something better?
• What did you learn from the past year of successes and challenges that you can use to make next year even better?

Moving Forward:

Since you can’t change the past, your energy is better used with focus on what can be done in the future. It takes courage to be honest and learn from the past. Now we have the opportunity to evaluate the results. The future provides us with a new canvas to leverage our learning to create what else we desire going forward. Here are some questions to help you consider the action and results you want to pursue with your business and life in the coming year.

• What areas of your business and life would you like to improve?
• What positive tangible results are you looking for?
• What would those results mean to you in your business and life?
• What happens if you don’t achieve those results?
• What steps do you need to put into place to accomplish them?
• What challenges will you need to confront or manage to be successful?
• Where will you get your resources, support and encouragement to move forward?
• How will you celebrate as you take steps and achieve your successful results?

In summary, you have the opportunity to reflect on the results of the past year, and apply learning to what you desire to create in the coming year. We encourage you to find the time to answer the questions and make decisions about what’s next for your business and life. Then you will be ready to move forward and put them into action in the coming year. Remember, you don’t need to do it alone.

We invite you to join our supportive group at Masterful Coaches Community Facebook Page for more tips and to connect with others who are building their coaching businesses. Always know that we would be honored to be of service to you. If you have questions or would like more information, please contact us at Support@MasterfulCoachesCommunity.com. We look forward to getting to know you.

Please share this article in its entirety to those who might find it helpful.

Here’s to your success!
