Jason Jones ICF-MN fills my bucket!! I look forward to the in person meetings to connect with my tribe of coaches and enjoy the way of being only coaches embody. It energizes me. https://s3.amazonaws.com/ClubExpressClubFiles/907122/graphics/Jason_Jones_1992631113.jpg
Bev Lutz ICF membership provides incredible professional networking opportunities, professional and personal growth, and opportunities to explore my strengths as I volunteer in service of my profession.  My chapter really helps me stay current with coaching, thought leadership, and learn-n-earn (CEU’s) from professional development events.  But it’s the supportive coach-friends and collaborators who have made membership for me priceless. //s3.amazonaws.com/ClubExpressClubFiles/907122/graphics/BevLutz1_669008720.jpg

Irene Kelly

Being a member of ICF offers me the opportunity for certification by the industry professional standard bearer; being a member of ICF Minnesota connects me to my professional peers for networking and collaboration.  Membership in both establishes me as “credible” and provides me opportunities to learn and grow.

President's Letter - January 2018

Shari Fruechte, ACC
ICF Minnesota President

Welcome 2018

Each new year I enjoy the anticipation and unknown of what the year will bring. For me, the new year is a time to create new visions, explore new options and prepare for the anticipation and excitement of the mystery that will unfold. It brings me energy and excitement and opens new doors for personal and professional growth. This year, I feel fortunate to include ICF Minnesota in my vision and growth. I anticipate that 2018 is going to be a very exciting and rewarding year for ICF Minnesota. The Board members are gearing up for growth in the coming years for our chapter. As the number of coaches entering the industry grows each year, ICF Minnesota wants to be the resource that coaches in our state come to for connection, personal mastery and structure.

To prepare for this growth, the board is building on the foundations that past-president Sara Krisher worked toward in 2017; and what the previous past-president, John Owens set in place to start that building. 2018 will bring a new structure to the meetings, as well as robust learning and connection to create an even stronger foundation for President-Elect Trish Perry to build upon in 2019.

As coaches, we work with our clients to navigate change. We know this requires innovation and being okay with uncertainty as well as appreciating the learning that comes from making mistakes (or growth/learning opportunities as I like to call them). These are all components that are required to create and sustain growth. I anticipate some learning in 2018.  Please be patient and grow and learn with me.

For those of you who haven’t been able to attend an in-person meeting recently, please, please try to attend one in 2018. We are changing the structure of the meetings for 2018 (watch for a detailed letter from our Professional Development and Membership committee chairs). The new meeting structure is based off of survey results and we are making changes that you, our membership asked for.

Starting in January, we are going to rotate quarterly webinars, Coaching Connections/Networking and Speakers. Details are being finalized, however dates and locations for the entire year are in place and will be available on the new, improved ICF Minnesota website after January 8th. Please watch for the new site and all of the information (and ease of use) the site will provide!

Thank you in advance for your engagement. I’m looking forward to serving as your president in 2018 and growing with all of you.

Enjoy!

Shari Fruechte, ACC

Booming Business Blueprint: Designing Your Best Year Yet

by Lynn Nodland, Ph.D., MCC and Robin Nordmeyer, CLC

Greetings, Lynn and Robin here with Masterful Coaches Community helping you to reach your goals for a booming business and a balanced life. Our last article was “Coaching and Life: Reflecting Back and Moving Forward.” In the present article, we will focus on ways to leverage your insight from reflecting back and then putting it forward into meaningful action.

Designing Your Best Year Yet!

A good approach for designing your best year yet is to create a plan and use it as a guide for the actions you take this coming year. The design for your best year begins with a good business plan that honors your priorities on what you want your life experiences to be. In other words, rather than work defining your life, let life define your work. Consider some of these big-picture questions about your life as you work on your business goals:

• How much time do you want to spend with family, friends, self-care, new experiences, hobbies, travel, learning and development, projects, volunteering, spirituality, etc.?

• What else do you value in your life that you need to accommodate? For example what else do you want to do? What else do you want to see? What else do you want to experience?

• What will you say yes to and embrace this year?

• What will you set boundaries on or say no to and eliminate this year?

• What financial considerations need to be weighed with respect to income and expenses to accomplish your goals and desired lifestyle?

Taking the time to address the big-picture questions above helps you to prioritize what you want to create in your business to experience your best life yet. The next step is to apply your answers to your business plans for the coming year. Some areas to consider would include:

• The type of client you want to serve
• The type of coaching you want to do
• How you want to deliver your coaching
• How much time you will spend coaching, and when
• Any changes to your policies, procedures and fees
• Any new products or offerings for coaching programs you will create
• The timelines you have to roll out your new products and program offerings
• How you will market your business
• What are your professional development needs

This is not an all-inclusive list of considerations. You probably will have your own unique set of questions or considerations to add to the list. As your intentions become more clear on the direction you want to go, you can consider the questions below to help turn your intentions into actions.

• What goals, timelines and action steps do you want to have in place?
• What are the measurable outcomes you will target?
• What support and resources do you need to move forward on all those great ideas?
• What’s the first goal you want to work on?
• What’s the first step you want to take?

In summary, our focus has shifted to the future and the coming year. We emphasized designing and taking next steps with your business to honor your life. We encourage you to create a business plan for moving forward to help you stay on track. Your plan becomes your guide and provides a point of reference while taking those next steps. This will help you avoid distractions and missteps so you can continue moving forward to accomplish your best year yet!

We hope these ideas have been helpful for you. We enjoy helping coaches move forward on their business and life goals. Please let us know how we may be a resource at Support@MasterfulCoachesCommunity.com. Always know that we would be honored to be of service to you. We also invite you to join our supportive group at Masterful Coaches Community for more tips and to connect with others who are building their coaching businesses. We look forward to getting to know you.

Please share this article in its entirety to those who might find it helpful.

Here’s to your success!
